A Berlandier's Tortoise I ran across on a recent trip to the Devils River State Natural Area. Turns out that turtles all look pretty similar, so they're pretty tough to key out in the field. Had some fun rolling around in the dirt to photograph him afterwards though, so it's all good.
Wow - a shot of a tortoise that actually conveys a sense of speed! He looks like he is really zipping along (relatively speaking)!
Aww, this is so cute. 8D
Cool! It never occurred to me that tortoises would have a moment in their walk cycle in which they are mostly off the ground. Was this one moving fast? Anyway, great shot, because it showed me something new about tortoises! O.o
Yep, I guess he was in a hurry to get out of there. Got as close to running as you'll ever see a turtle get. Glad you like the shot.
Wow awesome captured moment!
Haha, really awesome shot, totally worth some dirt.
Absolutely. There isn't an animal out there that I wouldn't lay in the dirt for (awkward comment of the day right there ).
