So that trip to the zoo last month dissolved into midair, but not to fear. I had the opportunity to visit my sister in Washington, and while I was there, I visited the Woodlawn Park Zoo. Of course, my camera promptly ran out of battery when I got there, and of course none of the stores there sold replacement batteries, so i was restricted to flipping my camera on for 2 seconds at a time to try to snap a picture. O_O Not fun. I had to focus beforehand and then flip it on, get my exposure crazy fast, and then try to take the shot. For the most part, that plan worked, but my shots weren't up to my usual standard as a result. The whole thing just put me in a pissy mood...
ANYWAYS...This here is the first fennec fox I've seen in a zoo, and I'm very happy with this shot. I took it before my camera crapped out, so I was still in a good frame of mind. I <3 fennecs.
Sorry to learn about your camera going to pot. I would not even have had the two seconds on mine. When it goes, that's it unless I have spare batteries on hand.
Basically that's what's happening, yes. I haven't been able to get to the zoo because I actually have a job this summer, and that takes up a lot of my time. I don't exactly why, but I just haven't been able to get to the zoo as much as I want to. Hopefully I'll be able to go back at least once before I go back to school in August though.
Well, I most definitely tried. Like I said in the caption, this one was before my camera ran out of battery. Things quickly proceeded downhill for me after this picture. Glad you like the shot.
Yep, I can usually squeeze out some more life from my battery if I try hard enough. The one good thing about the camera I have right now, I'd say. If I ever get some money, I'm going to upgrade my camera, maybe get a digital. We'll see though. Still stuck at step one, as far as that goes.
I figured you might, but I didn't want to say anything for fear of being wrong. I don't know why digital camera batteries die so much more... completely, but it's something I've noticed with my mom's point and shoot, and the one I use at school. Like you said, when it's gone, it's gone.
