I don't think I expect much response from this picture, as it isn't a big cat... or dog... or other carnivore... Not even that great a picture either, but I do like it for the underlighting I was getting and for the fact that orangutans have wonderful facial expressions no matter what they're doing. It's hard not to see the intelligence behind their eyes.

I'm not sure what I like most about this picture (especially since I tend to like most of your photographs). The lighting is really nice though, as is the unusual-looking pose you've caught him in.

Thanks for the kind words. :) I agree with you about the pose. Seems like it's tough to get an engaging photo of apes, mostly because they look so disengaged most of the time. I don't know that I've entirely avoided that problem here, but I'm glad the pose was at least a little nontraditional, and that the lighting was interesting. :)

You're very welcome! :-) And I understand what you mean about them looking rather disengaged, particularly in zoos. They may have very human-looking faces and big, soulful eyes, but you're honestly nothing they haven't seen before. XD
