Thanks! I've always been a sucker for reflections, myself. When you have really strong lines and repeating patterns like in this shot, a good reflection can make a decent composition fantastic and a lot of fun to look at. :)

Thanks! They certainly are -- critically so, in fact. You can read more about them on their IUCN Redlist Page: www.iucnredlist.org/details/89… . Very cool animals. :D

Beauty!
Interesting thing about them; despite the huge number of fangs, they're actually quite harmless to humans unless frightened or otherwise provoked. They're fish-hunters, not made to kill larger things like humans.

I like this shot! This creature looks really scary because of reflection! Its mouth seems to be opened and it is like looking directly at you! :O

Glad you like it. :) With all those teeth, it would be hard for him not to be a bit scary. ;)

I'm sorry for the late response, but I just wanted to say thanks. :) This is one of the most unique images I've taken in a zoo, so I'm glad you like it.

Too true. :D More teeth = more awesome. If only his reflection had a reflection, this would be one of the best pictures ever. ;) Glad you like it.

Gharials are so interesting-looking. Would love to photograph them but the zoos here don't have any. Anyways, great shot of the reflection & the eye. Didn't know it was such a beautiful green. :)

Thanks. I'd been trying for years to get a decent gharial shot when this opportunity presented itself. Seems that as interesting-looking as gharials are, they just don't translate well to film. :P Best of luck finding some in a zoo near you though. They really are a sight to behold. :)

this picture is kinda disturbing <_< not in a bad way, it's a great capture but at first I thought his mouth was opened then I realized it was the reflection :D and then I looked closely and it seemed like his head was opened or so Spazattackplz

Thank you kindly. :) They're so oddly shaped that it makes them difficult to get a decent shot of, but they really do make for some great geometry when the lighting is right. ;)

Thanks. :) It's one of those shots that just kind of took itself -- all I had to do was be there to get as low to the ground as possible and press the shutter release -- but it's still one of my favorites. :) Glad you like it too.

I don't have a superduper account, but this would make an eccellent daily deviation suggestion! I love how the reflection of the closed mouth looks like the open mouth of a bigger animal :) very amazing work!
